Officer Louis Villalobos Jr. Cause of death: Officer Villalobos died of head injuries after a fall during training exercises.
Location of sign: Los Angeles Police Academy
Officer Robert Joe Mata Cause of death: Officer Mata died of injuries suffered when his squad car hit a light pole while responding to a stolen vehicle investigation.
Location of sign: East side of John S. Gibson Boulevard, just south of W. Harry Bridges Boulevard
Officer George Andrew Rose Jr. Cause of death: Officer Rose died as the result of injuries received in 1992 during a shoot-out with a domestic violence suspect in the police station parking lot. It was later determined that Rose had been accidentally hit by one of his fellow officers.
Location of sign: South side of West Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, between Denker and LaSalle avenues, directly in front of the Southwest Community Police Station
Det. Abiel “Abe” Barron Cause of death: Det. Barron died as the result of an automobile accident.

Officer Ricardo Lizarraga Cause of death: Officer Lizarraga was shot and killed while responding to a domestic violence call.
Location of sign: North side of West 48th Street, between Western Avenue and St. Andrews Place
Officer Landon Michael Dorris Cause of death: Officer Dorris died after he was struck by a car while conducting an accident investigation.
Location of sign: East side of Riverside Drive, south of the Hyperion Avenue overpass, at the I-5 onramp
SWAT Officer Randal David Simmons Cause of death: Officer Simmons was shot and killed during a standoff with a gunman.
Location of sign: North side of Vanowen Street, between Oakdale Avenue and Hatillo Avenue
Officer Spree DeSha Cause of death: Officer DeSha was killed in the collision of a Metrolink passenger train and a freight train.
